Caring for Sunburn in Inconvenient Places

The summer sun is high in the sky, and that means your sun care game needs to be on point. Sure, you remember to lather up your arms, legs, chest, and back with SPF 50, but are you taking care of the other places on your body? Even if don't think parts of your skin are being exposed to the sun, you literally need to protect yourself from your head to your toes.

Your Face

As you work to protect your shoulders, you may have sunglasses on that make you forget all about your face. Unfortunately, there is nothing attractive about a sunglasses-styled sunburn on your face, which means protecting it is essential. If you'll be without makeup, remember to slather on an SPF 50 sunscreen.

On the other hand, if you intend to wear makeup, you can find foundation, moisturizing, and even eye makeup that offers protection from the sun. There are even products such as Jane Iredale Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen. The translucent powder is not only a long-lasting sunscreen, but a powerful powder moisturizer that offers a gorgeous matte finish.

Your Scalp

Your scalp is another area where it can be easy to forget the sunscreen. If you have long or thick hair, you probably think you're already protected, but your hairline and part are especially vulnerable to the sun.

If you haven't already spent the day out and about, you can protect your hair with a hat or by using a spray-in sunscreen option. However, if you already have a sunburn on the scalp you'll need soothing treatments.

One such treatment is Hairfinity Gentle Cleanse Shampoo. This gentle formula repairs the tangles and frizziness caused by too much time in the sun while gently soothing your scalp and moisturizing your tresses.

Your Lips

If you skip the sun screen on your lips because of the taste, you aren't the only one. That doesn't mean you don't need to protect the fragile, thin skin on them, though.

Tinted lip balms or moisturizers with SPF are an excellent way to protect your lips from the sun's damaging UV rays. The TiZo Solar Protection Liptect with an SPF of 45 is an excellent choice for protecting your lips without the less-than-stellar taste of traditional sun protection.

Your Feet

The tops of the feet are a final spot that many people forget to protect from the sun. Sometimes, they're still wearing their shoes when they put on sunscreen and then they forget to put some on when they step out of the water later. Other times, they don't think about the fact that sandals aren't good protection from the sun.

Regardless of what causes sunburn on the feet, there's no denying it can be quite painful. Remember to add sunscreen to your feet, even if you're going to be wearing socks and shoes for part of the day.

Sometimes, sunburn happens no matter how well you prepare yourself. If you find that you're a little redder than normal after a day in the sun, turn to LaLa Daisy. Products like the Davines SU Aftersun provides the sun aftercare you need to soothe any pain and feel better as soon as possible.
